Think you know exactly how the next-generation digital piano should look and function? Here’s your chance to show the world your design chops! Roland has announced the Digital Piano Design Awards, where forward-thinking individuals can create the digital piano of the future. Roland created the first all-electronic oscillation-based piano, the EP-10, in 1973 and has been a leader in the digital piano world ever since. Now they’re inviting you to show them a ground-breaking new design for a digital piano that breaks from tradition. No need for an electronics background or chops, you can focus on the look and structure of the cabinet as well as the functionality of the piano.
Entries open on November 10, 2015 and close on December 21, 2015. A panel of professionals and experts from Roland Corporation will judge the entries. The winning designs will be announced on January 21, 2016 and at the 2016 Winter NAMM show in Anaheim, California. Three cash prizes will be award to the winners.
