Whirlwind has introduced an AES digital version of its Qbox cable tester – the
AESQbox. This unit generates AES audio from built-in microphone, tone generator
or external audio input jacks and decodes AES digital audio and plays it
through built in speaker, line out or headphone jacks. The AESQbox operates on
battery or included external power supply. Use it as a test device or a
portable A/D-D/A converter.
Whirlwind AESQbox Features:
- Generates AES-3 or S/PDIF digital audio
- Three sources: built-in tone generator, built-in condenser mic, line in
- Output sample rates of 48kHz, 96kHz, or 192kHz may be selected
- Two AESQboxes can be used as a hands-free, two-way intercom
- Powered by four AA batteries or supplied AC adapter
