Tascam has announced version 2.0 software upgrade for the popular DM-24. New features and functions to the DM-24 include HUI emulation mode allowing it to be used as a control surface for popular DAW software packages. Version 2.0 also includes new 5.1 surround mixing features such as a new circle pattern parameter that will allow DM-24 owners to use the data to pan around the room in a continuous circle.
By now you’re probably aware of the exciting arrival of Mackie’s new DAW control surface, the Mackie Control. Due to the overwhelming response we’ve received to this product, we wanted to add the following support information in this edition of inSync.
Currently, Mark of the Unicorn’s Digital Performer and Mackie’s Soundscape 32 and Mixtreme are the only products that support the Mackie Control. Beta drivers for MOTU’s DP3 are available from their website and DP 3.1 (which is due to ship in the next 4-5 weeks) will ship with the drivers. Cakewalk’s Sonar 2, Steinberg’s Cubase SX, Nuendo, and Syntrillium’s CoolEdit Pro are due to support the Mackie Control in the near future. Please call your Sweetwater Sales Engineer for further information.
