Guitars

Gibson

Gibson’s at NAMM this year, and we can confirm they’re bringing updates on classic models. First up is the Hummingbird Studio Rosewood. It’s been updated with a gloss nitrocellulose lacquer top that perfectly complements the iconic Hummingbird pickguard. Other updated models include the J-45 Studio Walnut and the SJ-200 Studio Rosewood. Made by hand in the USA, Gibson acoustic guitars are the pinnacle of luxury and craftsmanship.

Alvarez

For NAMM 2025, Alvarez brings new, all-solid-wood acoustic guitars! The company’s Laureate acoustics are built by masterful luthiers who individually select each tonewood on the guitar. They also include LR Baggs HiFi electronics for incredible plugged-in tones onstage. The company is also introducing the LT66e, an all-mahogany, 000-style guitar that’s great for fingerstyle players and singer/songwriters alike. Whether you’re playing at home, in the studio, or onstage, one of Alvarez’s new acoustics is definitely the way to go.

Morley

Rex Brown has seen a lot while touring around the world with Pantera. So has Old Blue, his trusty Morley Pro Series II wah pedal. The NAMM show sees the debut of the Morley Rex Brown Old Blue wah — the first of Morley’s upcoming Classic Series pedals. It’s a complete re-creation of Rex’s original pedal, including the through-hole components, circuit layout, and noise-eliminating enclosure. Whether you use it for bass, guitar, or keys, the Rex Brown Old Blue wah is a vulgar display of musical power.

BOSS

One of the amazing qualities of tube amps is that they are loud. Extreme volume might be great onstage or in a professional studio, but it’s less desirable in an apartment or home studio. That’s where the new BOSS Waza Tube Amp Expander Core comes in. It’s a compact amp attenuator with a reactive load box built right in. Beyond that, you get 32 cab emulations, 64 user IR slots, five mic types, and more. Finally, you can set up 10 fully customized Rig patches for easy preset recall. Enjoy full-throated tone at lower volumes with a BOSS Waza Tube Amp Expander Core.

Orange

Portable amp heads are Orange’s offerings this year. First, we have the Dual Baby. It’s a 100-watt guitar amp head with two channels of rich, wide-ranging tone with a built-in effects loop. This amp covers everything from clean to crunch with ease. Second up is the Gain Baby. With 100 watts of power under the hood, the Gain Baby has a clean channel and a high-gain channel with four distinct gain stages for total freedom. Finally comes the Tour Baby! This pint-size powerhouse delivers more than enough signal to push full-size guitar cabs. A bevy of output options ensures that the Tour Baby is compatible with any amplifier or silent stage setup.

IK Multimedia

IK Multimedia’s ToneX ecosystem has changed the way guitarists record music. Now, you can take your ToneX tones anywhere! NAMM 2025 sees the introduction of the IK Multimedia ToneX Cab. This portable FRFR (full-range, full-response) cabinet drives 700 watts of power through a 12-inch Celestion speaker and a 1-inch compression driver to perfectly project all your guitar and bass presets. Other features, including a 3-band EQ, an onboard IR loader, and Amp Tone control, make the ToneX Cab an absolute must-have when taking your IK Multimedia ToneX rig on the road.

Ibanez

A whole host of new Ibanez guitars was released in January 2025. As always, the new Ibanez lineup includes guitars and basses in every flavor imaginable. Whether you’re looking to play blues, rock, indie, metal, or anything in between, these axes have what it takes to get the job done right. Another thing we love about Ibanez guitars is their sheer quality and consistency across the board. If you’re ready for a new guitar or bass to meet the new year, then you can’t go wrong with Ibanez.

Martin

Welcome to the next era of the Standard Series. For 2025, Martin has introduced a host of superlative refinements to make these guitars better than ever. Each model in the series includes Golden Era top bracing, which infuses the guitar’s voice with an airy quality. The neck carve has been further refined to give you better playability and a sleeker heel reminiscent of vintage Martins. Players who value old-school appointments but crave modern playability will certainly love the revamped Martin Standard Series.

Possibly the most unique NAMM rumor this year belongs to Martin. Check out the Grand J-28E, Martin’s first double-neck production model in more than a century! Part 6-string and part 12-string, part acoustic and part electric, the Grand J-28E gives you a world of possibilities to explore.

PRS

This year, PRS marks 40 years in the guitar business. They’re releasing all sorts of new guitars — and a couple familiar faces. First comes the Standard 24. After more than a decade out of the Core line, the Standard 24 boasts new DMO (Dynamic, Musical, Open) pickups that deliver even more clarity and nuance to your playing. Another returning favorite is the PRS Special. After decades away, PRS’s Swiss Army knife is equipped for any style or genre. PRS has also updated the S2 series, adding ultra-reliable Phase III tuners and USA-made pickups to all S2 models. Just check out these finishes!

Mesa/Boogie

An iconic fire-breathing amp head is reborn! Introducing the Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier ’90s, a perfect re-creation of the original Dual Rectifier Solo Head that was released in 1991. It absolutely delivers the decade-defining scooped mids and rich harmonics of the original amp. Whether you’re looking to capture the nu metal sound, grunge, or any other high-gain tone, your new Mesa/Boogie Dual Rectifier ’90s can do it all — and then some.

Zoom

Zoom has released the MS-90LP+, the latest looper in their impressive lineup. This compact looper comes with five dedicated footswitches, so you can add and remove loops or stop your performance without holding or double-clicking a switch. The MS-90LP+ offers stereo I/O, dual A/D converters, and 32-bit-float technology for unreal sound quality and flexibility. Speaking of sound, this looper is capped at an insane 90 minutes per loop and a whopping 13 hours of total looping time. And did we mention it stores up to 100 loops for you? If you love loopers, then you owe it to yourself to try the new Zoom MS-90LP+.

Live Sound

JBL

Experience pro-level sound made portable with JBL’s newest PRX Series loudspeakers. Two options are available: the 2-way PRX925 and the 3-way PRX935. Whichever you choose, these speakers deliver 2,000 watts of premium JBL sound. Another valuable feature is the built-in DSP. You get dbx’s DriveRack loudspeaker management for industry-leading feedback suppression and limiting. Finally, you can connect your smartphone directly to the speaker for full control of up to 10 Pro Connect-enabled speakers!

Yamaha

Yamaha live sound equipment is among the finest available. This year, they’re bringing two Dante stage boxes to NAMM. Their new Rio stage boxes are designed as the perfect foil to Yamaha RIVAGE PM series consoles. Two options are available: the 16-in/8-out Rio1608-D3 and the 32-in/24-out Rio3224-D3. Both stage boxes supply pristine head amplifiers, switchable 48V phantom power, and the squeaky-clean sound Yamaha is known for. And because these are Dante stage boxes, they’re perfect for networked audio systems.

QSC

For NAMM 2025, QSC has introduced the KC12 portable PA system. This compact system comprises two parts: a solid 12-inch sub and a slim column array with a pair of 4-inch midrange drivers and a 1-inch HF compression driver. At just 60 pounds, the KC12 is a natural choice for musicians, presenters, and mobile entertainers alike. You can place it onstage, front and center, or leave it in the background for more permanent installations in a gym or yoga studio. With its 132dB SPL maximum, flexible connectivity options, and onboard presets, the KC12 is ready for anything you throw at it.

BASSBOSS

Bring the boom with the BASSBOSS Krakatoa! It’s one of the most formidable speakers we’ve ever seen — and that’s saying something. According to the specs, the speaker can deliver 142dB SPL, sending inescapable sound to the back of the crowd. This 4-way speaker covers the frequency spectrum from 25Hz up to 18kHz. There’s also built-in DSP to tailor the speaker to your venue’s specific needs. In 2025, there’s no better all-in-one PA speaker to dominate the touring landscape than the BASSBOSS Krakatoa Mk3.

Mojave Audio

Mojave Audio released their first handheld dynamic microphone a couple years ago. Ever since, the company has been asked to make it wireless. Now they’re answering the wishes of FOH personnel! The new MA-D wireless head gives you a condenser-like vocal sound that’s compatible with Shure wireless handheld transmitters. Simply screw it onto your existing wireless transmitter, and boom! You’re ready to go. Using the MA-D wireless head eliminates the midrange presence peak, which plagues other live dynamic microphones, and makes your singer sound more like they want to sound!

Mackie

It wouldn’t be a NAMM show without Mackie. And it certainly wouldn’t be a NAMM show if Mackie didn’t bring something for everyone. This year, Mackie has unveiled the ProFX10GO, a super-powerful pro-level analog mixer. Oh, and it is battery powered so you can record with it wherever you are. What does it offer? We’re glad you asked. The ProFX10GO comes with award-winning Onyx preamps, EQ, analog compression, and onboard effects. There are even three USB recording modes and Bluetooth onboard for convenience. How’s that for powerful?

Audix

Audix has upped the ante on their fan-favorite kick drum microphone. Their new D6X takes the guts of the original D6 and adds three new sound profiles. In the “Deep” setting, you get the classic D6 sound. Move to the “Balanced” setting, and the enhanced upper midrange gives you a more traditional kick sound with all the impact that makes the D6 so great. Last, the “Natural” setting makes the mic response much more linear, which allows the mic to be used on guitar cabs and other instruments. Whatever you need to record, the D6X has what it takes to capture it right.

Drums

TAMA

The crew at TAMA has been busy since last year’s NAMM show. They’ve come up with five awesome new offerings. Up first is the Mirror Rod, one of the smoothest, most responsive double-pedal connecting rods the company’s ever built. Next is the S.L.P. Mod Bubinga snare drum, a 12-inch snare with a super-dynamic and resonant tone. Finally, TAMA has introduced three shell packs that look incredible. Check them out!

Keyboards

Roland

Say hello to the ultimate stage piano: the Roland V-Stage. Available in 73- and 88-key models, the V-Stage is built for professional musicians working onstage or in the studio. It offers four core categories of sound — Organ, Acoustic Piano, Electric Piano, and Synthesizer. You get four insanely powerful sound engines to match, meaning you never have to wait for a new sound from a different category. Plus, everything is clearly labeled and accessible on the front panel for immediate access to your most-used sounds and controls. Look out for the V-Stage to conquer venues around the world.

Content Creator

Shure

Attention! Podcasters, streamers, and content creators: we have your new favorite microphone. Introducing the Shure MV7I, a USB microphone with an onboard audio interface. This beast comes with an extra input jack to connect a second microphone or an instrument to record two sources at once. Plus, there’s onboard DSP to tailor your vocal sound to perfection.
