About Sennheiser Shotgun Mics

Sennheiser shotgun mics are simply superb, delivering stellar production audio for your film, television, and broadcast needs. With low self-noise, maximal side-noise rejection, and pronounced directivity, plus a rugged all-metal housing, these shotgun microphones were built to be used for your most adventurous projects. Their ultra-tight polar pattern and included windscreen allow you to isolate your audio source even in the most unpredictable environments. Whether you’re recording on set or the crew is venturing outdoors for a scene, Sennheiser shotgun microphones are the ultimate companion for getting broadcast-grade audio.

How do I power my Sennheiser shotgun mic?

Sennheiser shotgun microphones typically require phantom power to operate, provided by an external source or portable recorder via an XLR cable. However, the MKE 600 can use both phantom power or an AA battery.

What is the frequency response of Sennheiser shotgun mics?

The MKE 600 and MKH 416 have a frequency response of 40Hz–20kHz, while the Sennheiser MKH 8060 has a frequency range of 50Hz–25kHz.
