My Edirol UA-20’s audio drivers work fine in both standard and advanced mode, but the MIDI port is not working in Windows XP.

I have a UA-20 and the MIDI will not work. Audio is fine, and I can select the MIDI device in the Control Pannel, but when I try to use it I just get nothing. I have been through the Read Me stuff on the CD but it still won’t work.

My UA-20’s audio drivers work fine in both standard and advanced mode, but the MIDI port is not working. I followed the guidelines to install the drivers but it fails. When inserting the UA-20 Windows will choose its own WDM driver and the install wizard never comes up. I have tried to uninstall the driver but the same scenario happens, Windows’ own driver is chosen automatically. The manual says that if I have this problem I should contact EDIROL.

I’m not sure my computer has a compatible USB chip on it. How do I find out which chip it has, and which are compatible with the UA-1D, UA-1A, UA-20, etc?
