How do I update the OS on my MPC1000?
Download the MPC1000 OS from www.akaipro.com/support.
The downloaded file is a .zip format. If your computer does not unzip this file use a program like Stuffit to uncompress it. You should have a .bin file when this is done.
Insert a Compact Flash card into the MPC1000 and Switch the MPC100 on.
Go to Load mode, then press USB (F4).
Connect a USB cable between the computer and MPC1000 (display will change from ‘Status=Not Connected’ to ‘Status=Connected’)
The Computer will mount the Compact Flash card in the MPC1000 as a drive on your computer.
Copy (drag) the OS.bin file onto the Compact Flash card then disconnect the MPC1000 from the computer.
With the Compact Flash card with the OS data in the MPC1000, turn the power on while holding down the WINDOW button.
Pres the REC button. The MPC1000 will start processing the update and will then re-boot automatically with the new OS.
