Update Info about Logic control and the OMS issue
MAC: Logic Control not recognized
————————————————————————
Product: Platinum, Logic-Control
Version: 5.1
Description:
Although everything is correctly cabled, Logic does not recognize the Logic Control (neither automatically nor by scanning).
An OMS compatible USB MIDI Interface is being used.
Explanation:
At the moment it is not possible for Logic to communicate with the Logic Control via OMS if a USB MIDI Interface is used.
Solution:
Within a short time Emagic will release the update to version 5.1.2.
Logic Platinum 5.1.2 supports Logic Control/XT vie OMS-MIDI-interfaces.
If in Logic the Option “use OMS in addition to the built in drivers” is chosen, Logic Control/XT has to be plugged to a Unitor-Family interface via the internal driver (OMS is not supported in that mode).
We have tested Logic 5.1.2 with several OMS-MIDI-Interfaces.
Emagic explictily prints out, that not all tested Interfaces returned good results. The reason for bad results are probably insufficently programmed MIDI-drivers.
The following MIDI-interfaces have been tested with good results:
– Emagic Unitor8 (OMS Unitor Family Driver Version 1.2)
– Emagic Unitor8 MkII (OMS Unitor Family Driver Version 1.2)
– Emagic AMT8 (OMS Unitor Family Driver Version 1.2)
– Emagic MT4 (OMS Unitor Family Driver Version 1.2)
– Mark of the Unicorn MTP AV USB (MOTU OMS Driver 1.43, MOTU USB Driver 1.15)
– Midiman USB MIDISport 2×2 (constucted in the same way as Steinberg USB-2-MIDI)
– Midiman USB MIDISport 8×8 (driverversion 3.0)
– Steinberg Midex8 (driverversion 1.0)
– Steinberg USB-2-MIDI (USB-2-MIDIDriver 1.1.2, USB-2-MIDILoader 1.0.0, USB-2-MIDIShim 1.0.0, USB-2-MIDI OMS Driver 1.0.6)
– Tascam US-428 (driverversion 3.0.7)
– digidesign digi001 (OMS driver 5.1)
The following MIDI-Interfaces have been tested with bad results:
– RME Hammerfall DSP (HDSP, Digiface, Hammerfall DSP Driver 2.10, HDSP_OMSDriver 2.10)
– Roland SMPU-64 (USB UM-4 Driver 2.01, UM-4 2.0.1)
– Roland UM-4 (USB UM-4 Driver 2.01, UM-4 2.0.1)
– Creamware Pulsar
