The video player in Pro Tools 11 shows up black on my Mac.
If you’re trying to play video in Pro Tools 11 and the player is black, it may be due to the processor installed in your Mac. It is a known issue that Mac computer with Core 2 Duo processors cannot handle the video engine in Pro Tools 11. A workaround is to use Pro Tools 10.
If you’re not sure which processor is in your Mac, you can check by opening the Apple menu and choosing About This Mac.
Supported processors for Pro Tools 11 on Mac include a Core i5 and above.
