Set up StudioLive Remote for iPad

To set up StudioLive Remote for your iPad, you’re going to want to create a peer-to-peer network (a type of network connection between two systems that does not require a server or router).

To do this, follow these instructions:

Windows Vista:

  1. Open Start>Connect to
  2. Click “set up a connection or network”
  3. Select “set up a wireless ad hoc network” and click Next
  4. Enter the new network name of your choosing
  5. Enter a password of your choosing
  6. Click “save this network”

Windows 7:

  1. Open Start>Control Panel
  2. Click “Network and Internet”
  3. Click “Network and Sharing Center”
  4. Under “Change your networking settings,” click “Set up a new connection or network”
  5. Select “set up a wireless ad hoc (computer-to-computer) network”
  6. Click “Next” twice
  7. Enter a network name of your choosing
  8. Select the Security type
  9. Enter a password of your choosing
  10. Click “save this network”
  11. Click “turn on internet connection sharing”

Mac OS X 10.6 and later:

  1. On the menu bar, click on the Wireless Status icon
  2. Select “create network”
  3. Enter a network name of your choosing
  4. Check “require password” if you want one and create a password
  5. Your network will now appear in the list of available networks.

From your iPad:

  1. Tap on the Settings icon
  2. Tap on “Network”
  3. Tap on “Wi-Fi”
  4. You should see your new network under “Choose Network”
  5. Select it
  6. Enter your password if you created one
  7. Tap the arrow to the right of the network name to open its menu
  8. Turn on “Auto-Join”
  9. Open the StudioLive Remote app
