Reason+ Software Activation Instructions
Getting started
In this guide, we will show you how to activate and install your Reason+ Subscription software. To learn more about the Reason+ subscription service, be sure to check out the Reason+ FAQ page. Follow the sections below to get started.
Register the license code
The first step in the process is to register your Reason+ subscription license code with Reason Studios. You’ll need to create an account, then go to the unique activation portal to complete the registration process.
- Go to the Reason Studios homepage and log into your account. If you don’t have an account, do so at this time.
- Navigate to the registration page, copy and paste the registration code you received from your Sweetwater Sales Engineer, then click Sign Up Now.
Download and install Reason+ Companion
Once you complete the registration process, the next screen will take you to the Reason+ Companion download page. The Reason+ Companion application is where you will manage, download, and install Sound Packs, Reason+, and Reason+ Rack Extensions.
- Click the download icon for your OS.
- Navigate to your Downloads folder, run the installer, and follow the on-screen instructions.

IMPORTANT: You will be required to be online when both launching the Reason+ DAW software, as well as loading previously saved songs.
The next step in the activation process is to download and install your software. Follow these steps to download and install the software.
- Launch the Reason+ Companion app and log in using your account credentials.
- Click Manage Reason, and click the download button to download the latest version of Reason.
- Once complete, navigate to your Downloads folder, run the installer, and follow the on-screen instructions.
- PC: Right-click the .zip file, select Extract all…, and then click Extract. Double-click the .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Mac: Double-click the installer file, and then drag the Reason folder to your Applications folder.

If you do not, interest will be charged on the promo balance from the purchase date. The estimated required monthly payment shown which excludes taxes and delivery equals the amount financed divided by the number of months in the promo period, rounded up to the next cent. During the last month(s) of the promo period the required monthly payment may be reduced due to this rounding. These payments apply only with the financing offer shown. If you make these payments by the due date each month, you should pay off this amount financed within the promo period, if it is the only balance you are paying off. If you have other balances on your account, this payment will be added to any other minimum monthly payments.
