Can I purchase the KOMPLETE KONTROL software separately?
No. The KOMPLETE KONTROL software is exclusively available as part of KOMPLETE 10, KOMPLETE 10 ULTIMATE, KOMPLETE 9, and KOMPLETE 9 ULTIMATE.
Are all instruments contained in KOMPLETE 9 and KOMPLETE 10 integrated with the hardware?
Yes. Native-Map™, sound browsing, performance features and advanced Touch Kontrol™ modes will work for all instruments in KOMPLETE 9 or KOMPLETE 10 (except BATTERY 4). Please note that at the time of release, some KOMPLETE Instruments are not configured for full Light Guide™ support. This will be addressed in free software updates via the Service Center.
Do KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series keyboards work with third-party software? Can I map my plug-ins to the hardware?
Yes. Each KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series keyboard also works as a MIDI controller. Using the additional Controller Editor (it’s free), you can create mapping templates – just map the parameters of your non-NI plug-ins to the encoders. In a host where automatic track switching is supported (Ableton Live, Apple Logic, Steinberg Cubase/Nuendo), the KOMPLETE KONTROL software will automatically switch into MIDI Mode when you select a track that is loaded with a third-party plug-in.
Does the KOMPLETE KONTROL software work with MASCHINE?
The MASCHINE 2.2 software update provides full integration with KOMPLETE KONTROL. The update is scheduled for November 2014.
Can I use the KOMPLETE KONTROL software without the hardware?
Yes, you can browse all KOMPLETE Instrument sounds by sound tags and keywords.
Can I use the KOMPLETE KONTROL software with older versions of KOMPLETE or single KOMPLETE Instruments?
No, the KOMPLETE KONTROL software is only available as part of KOMPLETE 10, KOMPLETE 10 Ultimate, KOMPLETE 9 and KOMPLETE 9 Ultimate.

Can I use the KOMPLETE KONTROL software in my 64-bit host?
On Windows, KOMPLETE KONTROL offers support for both 32 and 64-bit plug-in formats. On Mac it only supports 64-bit plug-in formats.
Can I use the 5-Pin MIDI port on my KOMPLETE KONTROL S-Series keyboard to trigger other hardware and software instruments?
Currently, the 5-pin port doesn’t work in Standalone Mode. You need to connect the keyboard to a computer and send MIDI data from a host application.
Can I use my 3rd party KONTAKT instruments and REAKTOR ensembles with KOMPLETE KONTROL?
Yes – they behave just like user instruments or ensembles. Once the associated folder has been added to the User Library of the preferences menu, the instruments and ensembles will be accessible through the User tab of the KOMPLETE KONTROL browser.
