My computer doesn’t have an optical drive. How do I install the software that came on a DVD?
There are two possible solutions to this:
- In many cases, the software you are trying to install can be downloaded from the internet, especially if it is a DAW. Check the manufacturer’s website to see if your software is available via download. In many cases, you may need to register with the manufacturer to access the download.
- If your software is not available, you can always get an external optical drive that connects via USB. This will allow your computer to read the DVD. Usually software is not available online if it contains a large sample library, like Native Instruments Komplete.
