Multiple user accounts are supported in ProTools 7 on Mac OSX. When I set this up, I get -48 errors on all accounts except the Admin when running ProTools.
Turning off File Vault should remedy this error. Got to Apple menu > System Preferences > Security. There, select the Filevault tab, then check the settings to make sure FileVault is OFF.
