Why do my Midi ports work in other programs but not in Emagic Logic on Windows?
You’ll need to go into your WIN.INI file. Go to Start – Run and type this exactly: C:\WINDOWS\WIN.INI and hit Enter. This will bring up one of your Windows configuration file. Go to Search – Find and type Logic. Just below the header [Logic], there will be a listing of all known midi ports in your system. On the midi ports you are trying to use, change the value to 1, which enables it. Do the same for the outputs. Be careful not to alter any other sections in this file – it is used by Windows. Save the file, reboot your computer, and Logic should see all the midi ports you enabled.
