Line 6 POD HD500X Tips – Foot switches 5-8
On the POD HD500X, the bottom row of foot switches have two functions: ABCD mode and FS 5-8 mode. Out of the box, the foot switches are in ABCD mode and act as a preset selector within whatever preset bank you are currently in. You can change the function of these switches to provide you with additional on/off control for your effects, or FS 5-8 mode. When you change them to this function, you will still be able to choose your preset within a bank, but once you select your preset, they will switch over to FS 5-8 mode. To change presets from here, you will have to reselect your bank.
Here’s how to change from ABCD mode to FS 5-8 mode:
- Press and hold the View button to access the System Setup.
- By default, you should land on Page 1. Option 1, labeled FS mode, is what you want to pay attention to for this process.
- You can change the mode by turning knob 1 located just below the display. Turning the knob to the left switches to FS 5-8 mode and turning the knob to the right changes it to ABCD mode.
- When you are done, press the View button to return to the main screen.
