Interfacing TASCAM DA-98/88/38 Machines with Yamaha Digital Mixers
We’ve found customers having problems interfacing their TASCAM DA series machines digitally with the Yamaha Pro Mix digital mixers. The problem occurs when sending data digitally to the TASCAM machine through the TDIF interface card in the mixer. The DA-88 expects its digital data formatted in a slightly different way than the DA-38 or DA-98. There is a switch on the interface card (CD8-TDII) for the mixer that will make it work with either machine. The manual refers to only the DA-38 and DA-88, but the DA-98 works in the DA-38 mode.
