Common error messages on Tascam DTRS machines
“E CLOC” or “ECLOC” : No clock is coming in from source
– When referencing external BNC word clock, check word clock cable and the word clock source. Make sure sample rates match.
– When slaved to another DTRS, check the PW88s sync cable and/or try another cable. Also make sure the master machine is not showing an ECLOC message.
“E t. cut” or “Etcut” : the tape inside the unit is broken.
“E. dio” or “Edio” : not getting TDIF input. Check PW88 inputs and make sure source is sending TDIF out.
“EdE” or “E. dEu” : Condensation has occurred on the head drum. Leave the unit on for 1-2 hours. The naturally occurring heat produced inside the unit will promote drying.
“E Hi-8t” or “EHI-8” : A tape that is not Hi-8 is loaded in the machine. Use only Hi-8 tapes.
“Ethint” : tape is too thin for the machine (less than 8.5 #μm) is loaded. Use 120 minute or shorter tapes.
