I’m having sample rate issues in Pro Tools using Windows. How do I fix this?
First of all, make sure you’re running the latest driver for your audio interface. Then, consider the following:
When using Windows, sometimes the system sound settings can interfere with the playback engine settings in Pro Tools. To resolve this, make sure your system is NOT trying to use your audio interface while you’re using Pro Tools by disabling it in the system sound settings. Here’s how to do that:
- Click Start and select Control Panel.
- From there, click on Sound.
- On the Playback tab, right click on any option that pertains to your audio interface and click Disable.
- Do the same on the Recording tab.
Note: If you want to use your audio interface outside of Pro Tools after disabling your interface in the system sound settings, you’ll need to re-enable it. To do so, right click in the Sound Settings window and select “Show Disabled Devices,” then enable all options pertaining to your audio interface.
