I can’t install Avid Media Composer or Symphony on my Mac.
If you are running Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion or 10.9 Mavericks, you must disable Gatekeeper in order to successfully install Media Composer or Symphony. Once the applications are successfully installed, you can restore the Gatekeeper settings.
To disable Gatekeeper:
- Open System Preferences by clicking the Apple logo in the top left corner of your screen and choosing System Preferences.
- Click on Security & Privacy.

Under the General tab, select Anywhere under “Allow applications downloaded from.”
- Install the editing application. Once you have successfully installed and launched the application, go back to your System Preferences and restore the Gatekeeper settings if you wish.
