How do I turn off Write Protection on my Alesis DM10 drum module?

Turning off Alesis DM10 module write protection

Write Protection is turned on by default on the Alesis DM10 drum module. This is a feature that prevents any settings from being overwritten, which means custom settings on the Alesis DM10 module can be saved. In order to save your DM10 module settings, you will need to turn off Write Protection. Follow these steps to turn off write protection on the Alesis DM10 module.

  1. Press UTILITY, then press F4 SYS.
  2. Press F3 O/S, then press F4 MEM
  3. Use the CURSOR buttons to highlight the WritProt field and then turn the VALUE/TEMPO dial to select OFF
  4. Press the STORE button. The screen will show the message, “Store Settings?
  5. Press F1 YES to store all settings you have changed.
  6. At this point, you can turn Write Protection back on to keep your settings safe.
  7. Press DRUM KIT to return to the main screen on the Alesis DM10 module.
