How do I reset Ableton Live?
To reset Ableton Live, do the following:
Note: Resetting Live will cause your template set to be erased. You will also need to reconfigure your audio and MIDI hardware as well as your custom preferences. Plug-in support will need to be re-enabled.
Mac
- Close Live.
- Go to Macintosh HD/Users/[username]/Library/Preferences/Ableton/Live x.x.x/
- Delete Preferences.cfg, Template.als, and Undo.cfg (if available).
- Delete the same files for any version of Live on your computer and restart Live
Windows XP
- Close Live.
- Go to C:\Documents and Settings\[username]\Application Data\Ableton\Live x.x.x\Preferences\
- Delete Preferences.cfg, Template.als, and Undo.cfg (if available).
- Delete the same files for any version of Live on your computer and restart Live.
Windows Vista, 7, and 8
- Close Live.
- Go to C:\Users\[username]\AppData\Roaming\Ableton\Live.x.x.x\Preferences\
- Delete Preferences.cfg, Template.als, and Undo.cfg (if available).
- Delete the same files for any version of Live on your computer and restart Live.
