How do I adjust the Cross-Talk settings on my Alesis DM10 drum module?

  1. From the main screen, press EXT TRIG
  2. Use the CURSOR buttons to highlight the input field
  3. Use the VALUE/TEMPO dial to choose the trigger you want to adjust
  4. Press F2 TRIG. You will notice a few different settings:
    1. Xtalk Rcv – the trigger’s tendency to be triggered when an adjacent pad is struck
    2. Xtalk Snd – the trigger’s tendency to cause adjacent pads to trigger when struck
    3. ZoneXtalk – how likely a dual-zone trigger is to cause crosstalk upon itself
  5. Each setting can be adjusted from 0 – 7. Higher values will cause the pad to send or receive less cross talk. Adjust to taste.

Once you’ve made any adjustments to your settings, be sure to save them so they will be retained when you turn off your DM10. To do this, you will also need to temporarily disable Write Protection. See this article to learn more about how to do this.
