Gobbler Software Activation Instructions
In this article, we will show you how to redeem Sweetwater software purchases that require the Gobbler app. That means if your software is redeemed with Gobbler, you must follow the instructions on this page to configure your account and access your software. Gobbler Software Activation Explained
Some software products from SSL, Eventide, and others are hosted by Gobbler, a one-stop-shop type of software app that’s strictly dedicated to your Gobbler-supported purchases. Not all software sold at Sweetwater is hosted by Gobbler, so in this article, we’ll explain how it all works and show you how to set it up.
Let’s begin by checking the status of your Gobbler and iLok accounts. Open your email inbox and find the message titled Gobbler Activation Email. Click the link inside to access your Gobbler account.
IMPORTANT: Having your Gobbler and iLok accounts set up before you begin makes things a lot easier. If you didn’t have one set up before your purchase, one will be created for you and you need to reset its password. If you’re not sure about your accounts, that’s okay, just follow the sections below step-by-step to configure your accounts. Make sure to use the email address affiliated with your invoice for the new Gobbler account.
STEP 1: Do you have a Gobbler account?
If your software is hosted by Gobbler, that means you need a Gobbler account to access it. The email address affiliated with your invoice is used to initiate your Gobbler-delivered purchase.
- If you already have a Gobbler account using the same email address affiliated with your invoice, just log in with your account credentials to locate and access your new software.
- If you don’t have a Gobbler account yet, then one will be created for you, and you must use the email address affiliated with your invoice to reset the password and log in for the first time. If you’re not able to log in, just reset your password, especially if signing in for the first time.
STEP 2: Do you have an iLok account?
In addition to a Gobbler account, you must also synchronize an iLok account. Gobbler handles the delivery of your software but iLok manages the licensing aspect. Your product’s iLok license must be detected in order for the software to launch. While some licenses can only exist on an iLok USB dongle, others can also be accessed from the iLok Cloud server or even your computer’s built-in storage drive.
- If you already have an iLok ID for your Gobbler licenses, synchronize the exact iLok User ID with your Gobbler account to complete the account configuration.
- If you don’t have an iLok account, then you must create one for the first time. Once created, accept the account confirmation sent to your email and access your Gobbler account to synchronize your iLok User ID.
IMPORTANT: Gobbler also has an “auto-magical” feature for creating iLok accounts for new users. Either follow their process or create your first iLok account from scratch at iLok.com.
STEP 3: Are your Gobbler and iLok accounts synchronized?
When your Gobbler and iLok accounts are synchronized, your accounts are configured! If not, double-check your account via the App or a web browser. Once confirmed, all Gobber-enabled software can be accessed from the Gobbler app.
STEP 4: Install Gobbler Software App
After your accounts are configured it’s time to install your software. Follow the steps below to install and activate your Gobbler-supported software.
- Go to Gobbler’s Installers page and click the Gobbler App download compatible with your operating system.
- Open your Downloads folder and double-click the downloaded Gobbler installer file:
- PC: Follow the on-screen instructions.
- Mac: Double-click the Gobbler icon in the window that appears, then follow the on-screen instructions.
- Launch the Gobbler app and log in with your Gobbler account. You can also launch the Gobbler app from the Windows taskbar or macOS Menu bar.
- Select each product to initiate its software installation and license activation.
- Click the medal icons to manage each product’s software license.

The estimated required monthly payment shown which excludes taxes and delivery equals the amount financed divided by the number of months in the promo period, rounded up to the next cent. During the last month(s) of the promo period the required monthly payment may be reduced due to this rounding. These payments apply only with the financing offer shown. If you make these payments by the due date each month, you should pay off this amount financed within the promo period, if it is the only balance you are paying off. If you have other balances on your account, this payment will be added to any other minimum monthly payments.
