How to format an SD card on a TASCAM DR-40X
This guide will show you the procedure on how to format an SD card on a TASCAM DR-40X. When formatting cards on the DR-40X, TASCAM recommends that it be connected to your computer via USB or powered by new batteries or the external TASCAM power supply. Please follow the instructions below to get started.
IMPORTANT: Formatting the SD card will erase all stored data, so be sure that all of your files are backed up beforehand.
- Press the MENU button, then use the + and – buttons to navigate to System.
- Use the + and – buttons, navigate to ERASE/FORMAT, then select QUICK format or FULL format:
- QUICK erases all recorded files and recreates the Music and Utility folder.
- FULL will erase everything and will also check for any SD card errors in the process.
- Press ENTER to confirm you wish to perform the format, then press ENTER once more to begin the formatting process.
- You can cancel the DR-40X SD card formatting process at any time by pressing the HOME button.
- Once complete, you’ll be taken back to the HOME screen.
