Expressive E Software Activation Instructions

In this guide, we will show you how to register, download, and activate your Expressive E software. Follow the instructions below to get started.

Create an iLok account

TIP: An iLok dongle isn’t necessary to activate your software.

Expressive E software is licensed with an iLok. To use it, you will need to connect its iLok license to your computer. If you don’t already have an iLok account, you’ll need to create one and install the iLok License Manager app. Follow the steps below to get started. 1. Visit iLok’s registration page and complete the registration form. 
   • Take note of your User ID and password, as they are case-sensitive.
2. Open the iLok Account Activation email and click on the verification link.
3. Download and install the iLok License Manager.
4. Launch the iLok License Manager app and sign in to your account.

Register the software

Once your iLok account is created, the next step is to create or log into your Expressive E account and register your product using the activation code you received from your Sweetwater Sales Engineer.

1. Go to the Expressive E login page and enter your account information. If you don’t have one yet, click create an account.
2. On your account homepage, click Product registration, copy and paste the activation code you received from your Sweetwater Sales Engineer, then click Continue.

Download and install

Once registered, you can now access your product downloads from your account. 

1. On your account page, click My Downloads and Serials, locate your product, then download the latest version for your OS.
2. Navigate to your Downloads folder, locate, extract, and launch the installer.

Activate the plug-in

You can activate your Expression E software one of two ways: either within your DAW or enter your code directly into the iLok License Manager application by clicking the “Redeem an Activation Code” button at the top right.

Built-in activation window

The first way to activate your Expressive E plug-in is by using the built-in activation window inside your DAW.

1. Launch your DAW, then load your Expressive E software on an instrument track.
2. When the activation window appears, copy and paste the activation code.
3. On the next page, enter your email address. If you prefer to activate it to your iLok account, click “Register with my existing iLok account,” click Continue, and enter your iLok account credentials.
   • If you choose to activate it with your iLok account, select the activation location, click Next, then click Continue.

iLok License Manager

If you haven’t downloaded your software or want to activate it outside your DAW, you can redeem your Expression E directly through iLok License Manager.

1. Launch the iLok License Manager app.
2. Navigate to Licenses, then click Redeem Activation Code. Alternatively, click the “..I” button (next to the search bar) to view the prompt.
3. Enter your Expression E activation code and click Next.
