Cycling 74 Software Activation Instructions
Getting started
In this guide, we will show you how to register and activate Cycling 74 software. Follow each of the sections below to get started.
Register the activation code
You need to register with Cycling 74 before accessing your Max software. Check the Software Activation Instructions email sent from your Sales Engineer to get the required activation code. During registration, you’ll be prompted to select an authorization method, either online by using your Cycling 74 login or with an iLok USB dongle. Most users will choose the online method, but follow our iLok Setup Guide before continuing with iLok licensing. Max subscriptions cannot be authorized via iLok.
- Go to Cycling 74’s site and click the SIGN IN/CREATE ACCOUNT button (top right).
- When prompted for your login, either sign in or click Create Account to create one.
- Go to the activation page, enter the activation code and click Activate.
- Choose your activation method:
- Cycling 74 account (online authorization): authorize Max online with your Cycling 74 login.
- iLok: use your Max license on an iLok USB dongle which is required to launch the software.
Download and install Max
Once registered with Cycling 74, you can download and install Max. If during activation you chose the online authorization method, you’ll sign in to the app. If you chose to authorize the software with iLok, use the iLok License Manager to transfer the license to a connected iLok USB dongle.
- Go to the Cycling 74 download page.
- Click the Mac or Win download button for your operating system, or click the Looking for…? button to change the operating system type.
- Open your Downloads folder and launch the installer file:
- PC: Right-click the Max .zip file, select Extract all…, and then click Extract. Double-click the new Max .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions.
- Mac: Double-click the Max .dmg file and, when prompted, click Agree. Click and drag the Max app to the Applications folder.
- Launch the Max app. Click the Help menu and select User Account and Licenses. In the new window sign in to your Cycling 74 account.
