Compatibility Issues With Opcode’s Studio 64X

PC users: To be compatible with the Opcode’s Studio 64X MIDI interface, the serial port on your computer must have a 16550 chip on it. To verify this:§Go to a DOS prompt and from your c:\windows directory run msd.exe.§In this Microsoft Diagnostic program select “COM Ports…” and look at the number next to “UART Chip Used” under the COM port which is connected to the Studio 64x. It should show 16550 or 16550AF. If not, then you need to connect the Studio 64x to a port which does use that chip.
