Using a BRC and Adats with a Yamaha 02R.

Do NOT turn on “DIGITAL I/O” from the BRC if you want the ADATS to output their signals to the Yamaha. If you do, only one of the ADATS (the source deck) will output its own digital signal, while the other will be told to go into “digital through” mode. As a result, you won’t be able to hear any of the ADATS except one. The situation will be even more confusing if the user selects individual tracks on the BRC’s EDIT DIGITAL I/O page: all the other ADATS will “listen” only to some busses of the Yamaha.

Instead, press DIGITAL INPUT on the front of the ADATS individually, not from the BRC. In this case, each ADAT will output its own eight tracks (as it will when DIG I/O is off, but in that case, the ADATS will not be able to “hear” the output from the O2R).
