Blackstar Software Activation Instructions

In this guide, we will show you how to download, install, and activate your new Blackstar plug-ins. Follow the sections below to get started.

Create an iLok Account

NOTE: If you already have an iLok account, skip these steps and continue to download and install the plug-in.

Blackstar Native software is licensed with an iLok. That means you must connect its iLok license to your computer to use it. If you don’t already have an iLok account, you must create one and install the iLok License Manager app. Follow the steps below to get started.

1. Visit iLok’s registration page and complete the registration form. Take note of your User ID and password, as these are case-sensitive.
2. Open the iLok Account Activation email and click on the verification link.
3. Download and install iLok License Manager.
4. Launch the iLok License Manager application and sign into your iLok account.

Redeem the Software

The next step is to redeem, download, and install the software.

1. Go to the Blackstar plug-in redemption page and enter your email address and iLok user ID and click Validate Account.
2. Copy and paste the redemption code you received from your Sweetwater Sales Engineer, then click Validate Code.
3. When prompted download your plug-in.
4. Once the download is complete, navigate to your Downloads folder, locate then launch the installer.

Activate iLok License

The final step in the process is to activate your plug-in using the activation code you received from your Sweetwater Sales Engineer.

1. Launch the iLok License Manager app and click the Available tab.
2. Drag and drop your license into the computer icon.
3. Wait for the license transfer to complete.
4. Enjoy your new plug-in!
