Bitwig Software Activation Instructions

Getting started

In this guide, we will show you how to activate, download, and install Bitwig. Follow the sections below to get started.

1. Register the serial number

   • Offline activation

Register the serial number

IMPORTANT: If you’re activating Bitwig on an offline computer, Bitwig must first be installed. You’ll need access to an online computer and have a USB thumb drive too.

The first step in the activation process is to redeem the serial number you received from your Sweetwater Sales Engineer. To redeem Bitwig, you first need to create an account with them. Follow these steps to redeem the activation code.

1. Log into your Bitwig account. If you don’t have an account yet, you can create one here.
2. On your account page, enter the Serial Number your Sweetwater Sales Engineer sent, then click Register.

Install and activate Bitwig

Once the software is activated, you can then download and install Bitwig. 

1. Go to your account homepage, then click the download file for your OS.
2. Navigate to your Downloads folder, then launch the installer.
   • PC: Double-click the .exe file and follow the on-screen instructions.
   • Mac: Double-click the .dmg file. In the window that appears, double-click the .pkg file and follow the on-screen instructions.
3. Launch Bitwig. The first time you launch your software, you’ll be asked to enter your Bitwig user account information to activate your computer permanently. This only has to be done once. 

Offline activation

While activating your Bitwig software is the preferred method for activating your software, you can activate it without an internet connection. Connect a USB thumb drive to your computer and follow these steps to activate your plug-in offline.

1. Launch Bitwig, then click Offline located underneath the LOG IN button.
2. Click Save Activation Request, then transfer that file to your USB thumb drive.
3. Go to a computer with an internet connection, connect the thumb drive, and then log into your Bitwig account.
4. Scroll down and click Offline activation, click Choose File to load the file from your USB thumb drive, then click Download.
5. Transfer the activation file you downloaded to the thumb drive and go back to your offline computer.
6. Launch Bitwig, click Offline, then click Load Activation file. 
7. Locate the activation file on your USB thumb drive, then click Continue.

Enter your Bitwig account information to complete the activation process.
