Waves has announced the Scheps 73 plug-in, which was co-developed with renowned mix engineer Andrew Scheps (Adele, Black Sabbath, Metallica, Red Hot Chili Peppers, et al), to create Scheps vision of a 1073-style equalizer. Scheps, who owns two Neve 8088 consoles loaded with 1073 EQs, says that the plug-in acts the way he expects when he reaches for the hardware, and accurately recreates the 1073 tonality, with the addition of a handy mid/side mode, and an additional 10k EQ frequency, as found on the rare 1078 EQ.
