Universal Audio has announced version 5.1 of the UAD Powered Plug-Ins Software for the UAD DSP Platform, which includes the new Moog Multimode Filter plug-in for UAD-1, which is exclusively endorsed and officially licensed by Moog Music. and developed by UA. The Moog Multimode Filter carries an introductory price of just $199, and is also available as a fully functional 14-day demo in the version 5.1 download. It will also be available for UAD-2 in a future release. UAD-2 owners who buy the Multimode Filter now for the UAD-1 will get the UAD-2 release at no additional cost when it becomes available.
Sonnox has announced that it has updated the Windows VST versions of the Oxford series of plug-ins. The latest versions are:
- Oxford Limiter v1.2.2
- Oxford R3 EQ v1.7.2
- Oxford R3 Dynamics v1.4.2
- Oxford Inflator v1.6.2
- Oxford TransMod v1.4.2
- Oxford Reverb v1.1.4
- Oxford SuprEsser v1.0.1
Among the fixes and enhancements found in the new versions are:
- Certain VST hosts expect the plug-in DLL to export an obsolete entry point, and thus do not “find” the plug-in during the initial scanning phase if this entry point is not found. The obsolete entry point has been put back into the plug-in so that older hosts can continue to use the Oxford plug-ins. Hosts susceptible to this issue included WaveLab 5, Sound Forge 9, Vegas 8, and Adobe Audition 3.
- The internal call to the Mono VST interface function, which should be obsolete, has been reinstated. Again, this is because some hosts and wrappers require it to achieve adequate functionality.
