Modartt has updated their Pianoteq modeled piano plug-in/standalone app to vesion 3. The latest version features a new acoustic model that simulates how sound radiates from the soundboard and cabinet. You can also use up to five virtual microphones, placed anywhere around the piano, with a mixer to combine the mic outputs ad control level and delay. Other changes include a new user interface, up to 5-channel output, new C3 and M3 grand pianos, and an advanced preset and parameter manager. Pianoteq requires only 20MB of hard drive space and support Audio Units, VST, and RTAS plug-in formats as well as standalone operation on Mac or Windows.
Softube has updated Metal Amp Room to version 1.1.4. The new version adds presets from producer/engineer Tue Madsen, fixed bugs when running in Pro Tools 8 on Windows, and updates the DSP framework for improved stability and performance on the native Mac and Windows platforms. Metal Amp Room supports Audio Units, VST, and RTAS plug-in formats.
