Universal Audio has announced UAD Software version 7.8 for UAD-2 DSP processors, and Apollo audio interfaces. Three new plug-ins are available to add to the UAD Powered Plug-ins platform with this release: the Valley People Dyna-mite, the Tonelux Tilt EQ, and the Thermionic Culture Vulture.
The Valley People Dyna-mite plug-in exactly replicates the classic limiter/expander/gate, which has enjoyed a fanatical cult following for more than 30 years. The Dyna-mite is capable of everything from traditional limiting to create sound shaping and extremem musical effects.
The Tonelux Tilt EQ plug-in allows for quick, simple, broad-stroke EQing and tonal shaping. It is designed for fast operation — turn left to cut lows and boost highs, turn right to boost lows and cut highs. The transformers in the original are fully modeled, adding a subtle saturation and fatness in the low end. A Tilt EQ Live version foregoes the transformer modeling to reduce DSP load and allow for more instances.
The Thermionic Culture Vulture is a circuit-accurate emulation of the all-valve boutique distortion processor that is designed to provide a broad palette of panoramic distortion and saturation colors. The orignal’s three distinct all-tube circuit topologies are replicated, plus the plug-in adds a dry/wet mix control and a stereo link function for capabilities not found on the original.
UAD 7.8 includes demos of all three plug-ins.
