Tracking (Guitar Synth)

Tracking, also known as “pitch tracking,” refers to the speed and accuracy with which a guitar synthesizer or guitar-to-MIDI system can respond to and process a played note or chord. The “holy grail” of guitar synthesis is a system with no pitch errors or tracking latency, and modern technology keeps inching closer to that goal. Keyboard tracking is usually not an issue, since keyboards are inherently electronic instruments that directly trigger the synthesizer itself, unlike stringed instruments.
