Sweetwater has a number of attributes that have made the company what it is today. Without question, two of those attributes really stand out: Sweetwater’s long history of producing musically useful soundware libraries and their companywide appreciation and understanding of the power of Kurzweil synthesizers.
So it should come as no surprise that Sweetwater is proud to introduce the Sweetwater PC3K Library, a collection of instruments for the Kurzweil PC3K (6, 7, and 8) synthesizers. The instruments for this library were cherry-picked from our award-winning CD-ROMs, including Stratus Classical Instruments, American Standard, Exotic Instruments, RSI Library, Finger Juice, Grand Piano Collection, Ultimate Guitars, Pocket B3, and Total Stereo Drums.
The instruments in this collection were chosen to offer a good contrast to and a “blendability” with Kurzweil’s internal ROM sounds. And because they were designed in an era when instruments had to sound great with just one or two megabytes of ROM, you can simultaneously load many of your favorite instruments into the flash ROM and leave them there, knowing you’ll still have room for instruments you’ll need for specific occasions.
Rather than fill the rest of this article with a long list of instruments, we’ll list them on the Sweetwater PC3K Library product page, along with a video and audio demos. Check it all out here.
The Sweetwater PC3K Library comes on a 2GB thumb drive that’s been formatted so that you can plug it directly into the PC3K and start loading. Since there will be plenty of room left over on the drive, we’ll include the latest operating system and objects, as well as the currently available Kurzweil PC3K libraries (including the SynthScapes and Take 6 collections) and the K2661 ROM Compatibility files.
It’s time to start putting your PC3K’s 128MB of flash ROM to use. And the Sweetwater PC3K Library is a great way to start!
