The Strymon MultiSwitch adds a lot of creative power when combined with the company’s TimeLine, Mobius, or BigSky pedals. In most cases, connecting a MultiSwitch to your Strymon pedal will be simply “plug and play,” no muss, no fuss.
However, TimeLine, Mobius, and BigSky pedals manufactured prior to mid-February, 2015 may require a firmware update to be compatible with a MultiSwitch. To check the firmware version on a TimeLine, power the pedal up while holding the Tap footswitch. Turn the Type encoder until REVISN is displayed. Press the Type encoder to display the firmware version. As of this writing, the current firmware versions are:
- TimeLine — v1.58
- Mobius — v1.23
- BigSky — v1.15
Updating the firmware of one of these pedals requires a MIDI interface between the pedal and your Mac or PC and the Strymon Preset Librarian app for your computer. Within the Librarian, select “Software Update” under the View menu. Check the firmware versions, and if a newer version is available, click “Install the Update.” Click “OK” when the update finishes installing. The firmware version is also displayed in the lower-right corner of the Preset Librarian window.
