Steinberg has announced the new UR12, a compact portable USB 2.0 audio interface designed for home studio and portable use, and the latest in the popular UR family of audio interfaces. The UR 12 is compatible with Mac, Windows, and iPad, and supports audio resolution up to 24-bit/192kHz. It provides one Neutrik XLR input for microphones — a Class A D Pre featuuring 48-volt phantom power and a high-impedance instrument input. Outs include main analog RCA outputs and a headphone output with dedicated volume control. A direct monitoring switch enables latency-free monitoring. The UR12 includes a free, bundled copy of Cubase AI, and the UR12 is compatible with Mac, Windows, and class-compliant-compatible iPad apps. It will be available in January of 2015.
