Musicians talk a lot painting with sound, sonic palettes, timbral colors, etc., but German photographer, Martin Klimas has taken this literally! Check out this story from the BBC: Klimas places paint on top of speakers, then plays music through the speaker at full volume, causing the paint to “explode” upward. He’s photographed color explosions from a variety of musical styles and artists, including Charlie Parker, Daft Punk, Bach, Prince, Kraftwerk, Richard Wagner, and more.
