Bostom-based iZotope, Inc. has announced that it has acquired the iDrum and pHATmatik PRO virtual instruments from creator Art Gillespie. The iDrum was the first third-party plug-in designed specifically for use with Apple’s Garage Band software, which is part of the iLife suite. Similarly, pHATmatik PRO was one of the very first loop slicing tools to hit the market, allowing musicians to find new ways to personalize and re-invent their loop libraries. Effective immediately, iZotope will assume all sales and support responsibilities for iDrum and pHATmatik PRO.
Basically, iDrum is a software drum machine with a 64-step sequencer for each loaded voice that’s compatible with Mac OS X 10.3 and up, or as a standalone plug-in, in Pro Tools RTAS or Audio Unit format. Meanwhile, pHATmatik PRO lets users import multiple audio file formats, slice and adjust looping points, and apply tempo, pitch, filters and many other parameters to each individual slice. pHATmatik PRO is also compatible with Mac OS X 10.3 and up as well as Windows 2000/XP, VST and Audio Unit.
