Pro Tools & Lion

Avid has released the CS 9.0.5 update for Pro Tools 9. This version provides official support for OS X 10.6.8 and fixes for issues in Snow Leopard and Windows 7.

Pro Tools 9.0.5 also includes beta support for OS X 10.7 (Lion). Please double-read that: beta support. That means this version is still in the testing phase. If you must update to Lion, give it a try. We’re anxious too, but we recommend the conservative approach: waiting for the official release of Pro Tools with Lion support.

One tech note: According to Avid, if you install Lion onto a Mac with OS X 10.6 and Pro Tools 9 already installed, several necessary Pro Tools files may be removed by the installer. For best results, do a clean install of Lion, then install Pro Tools.
