There is a rather cool feature in Peak that most users don’t know about. See, Peak has an editable plug-in envelope, which allows users to program a variable wet/dry mix over a selected portion of an audio waveform. As an example, let’s assume you have a clip of some dialog you want to apply reverb to, but would like to have the amount of reverb vary dynamically. Peak allows you to create a custom envelope that automatically varies the amount of reverb applied to different portions of the clip. To apply effects plug-ins dynamically:
1. Select the portion of the audio document you want to process.
2. Choose Plug-Ins Envelope from the Peak Preferences.
3. A dialog box appears that allows you to draw a breakpoint envelope to control how much of the effect is applied over time. Points at the top of the graph represent 100% wet, while points at the bottom represent the dry signal (0% wet).
4. When you are done drawing the envelope, click on the Change button.
5. Configure the plug-ins you wish to apply, then choose Bounce from the Plug-ins Menu.
