A combination of two or more tracks that are re-recorded to a new track — sort of like creating a submix of multiple tracks, then recording that submix to another track. Originally this was done to free up tracks for more recording. These days, tracks are bounced to “print” plug-ins and effects to an audio file, or to record a full mix from a DAW as an audio file without sending the signal out to an external recorder.
