Arturia has announced new additions to their ever-growing family of killer virtual analog emulations of classic synths. First up: the might Matrix 12! The Arturia Matrix-12 V emulates all of the original parameters from the original Oberheim Matrix-12 analog polysynth and adds desireable extras such as modulation and effects possibilities not found in the original hardware. The original Matrix-12 was a revelation due to its amazing modulation matrix, which allowed for extremely complex and flexible routing; the Matrix-12 V takes this to a new level, with double the number of modulation sources and much. Matrix-12 V also includes 500 professionally programmed presets that cover a wide range of musical genres and performance styles.
Also new is the Solina V, which resurrects the sought-after Solina String Ensemble. Hugely popular during the ’70s, the Solina was well known for its smooth, shimmering, rich, animated analog string sounds. Arturia faithfully recreated the six original Solina presets (Cello, Contro Bass, Viola, Violin, Horn, and Trumpet), and also added a new preset, Humana, which incorporates the Polymoog’s resonant parallel filter bank; these filters are also available for use on other Solina V sounds. Other modern enhancements include built-in effects, Mk1 (mono) and Mk2 (stereo) modes, and more!
Arturia has also updated their V Collection to V Collection 4, which includes all 12 of the company’s award-winning Analog Classics software instrument recreations, including the VOX Continental V, and the just-announced Matrix-12 V and Solina V. Also new to V Collection 4 is Spark 2, with over 170 drum machines and more than 5,500 patterns.
Finally, Arturia has introduced the all-new Arturia Software Center, a Windows and Mac app that makes it super easy to register, activate, download, install, and update all of your Arturia instruments — those that you already own and those that you have just purchased — in one convenient place. Software can be installed on up to five computers, and a USB dongle is no longer required.
