Cycling ’74 has announced version 6 of Max, which now also includes Jitter in the same package. Better yet, Cycling ’74 has dropped the price on Max for both regular purchases and for educational purchases. There are, of course, tons of new features and improvements in this version, including code generation for patch optimization, a new “gen” object, the latest Javascript, 16k wavetables for better signal-to-noise performance, 64-bit processing, real-time editing of patches while audio is passing, a new Attrui object for attribute monitoring and editing, user interface improvements, and much, much more.
