At the recent WWDC (WorldWide Developer Conference), Apple introduced the new 13″ MacBook Pro laptop. You might think this new computer is pretty much the same as the 13″ unibody aluminum MacBook it replaces, but there are substantial differences – this new machine definitely steps things up a BIG notch. Here’s a few key differences:
- Base Price MBP: $1199, MB: $1299
- FireWire MBP: FireWire 800, MB: none
- SD card slot MBP: yes, MB: no
- Hard drive MBP: 160GB, MB: 120GB
- RAM MBP: up to 8GB, MB: up to 4GB
- Battery MBP: new 7-hour battery, MB: old-style battery
- CPU MBP: 2.26 or 2.53GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, MB: 2.0 or 2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Of course, all the standard features are still there, including 2GB RAM out of the box, SuperDrive, wireless support built-in, 9400M NVidia video card, USB ports, mini-DisplayPort, etc.
