Over the years, Sweetwater has had the pleasure of welcoming numerous famous musicians to our state-of-the-art facility, but rarely a sports icon. That changed when Philadelphia Eagles’ six-time Pro Bowl center and Super Bowl LII champion, Jason Kelce, stopped by our Band and Orchestra showroom in search of a new baritone saxophone.
After checking out our wide selection of baritones, Kelce got his hands on a Jupiter JBS1100SG Baritone Saxophone and fell in love immediately. After giving the JBS1100SG a thorough test run in one of our sound-isolated demo rooms, Jason stopped for some pictures and walked away with his new prize.
Like many Sweetwater customers, Kelce has built a strong relationship with his Sales Engineer, Dave Brow, and was excited to finally meet Dave when he came to the Sweetwater campus. Kelce hopes to have Dave help build him a home recording studio to track songs using his new baritone saxophone.
Away from the gridiron and playing saxophone, Kelce has stayed committed to his love of music by releasing a Christmas album, A Philly Special Christmas, aptly named after the trick play that helped the Eagles win Super Bowl LII. Joining him on the album are fellow Philadelphia Eagles linemen Lane Johnson and Jordan Mailata, along with the War on Drugs drummer Charlie Hall, who served as the musical director. Proceeds from the album go to the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center in Philadelphia, with more than $100,000 already raised.
