Happy New Amp Day!

Here’s a tip for getting more out of a new amplifier: spend some time with your guitar or bass plugged straight into the amp, really learning its capabilities and tonal possibilities before you plug in your stompboxes and/or rack effects. This way, you’ll have a better idea of what the amp can do, and how your guitar and playing sound through it. Then, when you add in your effects, you’ll be better able to dial them in for the best results — and you’ll immediately notice if the pedal is changing the amp’s tone (for the better or worse).
