About Frank Zummo: Drummer, DJ, and Dynamo
Frank Zummo is a powerhouse drummer, Canadian Music Hall of Fame inductee, and Alternative Press Music Awards “Drummer of the Year” winner. With multiple #1 hit songs under his belt, he’s rocked stadiums, arenas and festivals worldwide, sharing the stage drumming for Sum 41, Electric Callboy, Mötley Crüe, Linkin Park and more. Oh, he’s also diabolical on the decks.
He performs DJ sets — often blending them with live drumming elements — at events like Emo Nite in Los Angeles, where he’s spun multiple times, mixing nostalgic emo, pop-punk, and throwback tracks that tie into his rock roots.
His DJ gigs continue to play a successively larger role in Frank’s artistic ecosystem, especially post-2020s. Solo sets and hybrid drum-DJ performances span clubs and festivals across Europe, the UK, Japan, and the US, the last includes San Francisco, Seattle, and Los Angeles, to name a few.
What inspires his craft? For Frank, it’s all about celebrating live music, connecting with fans, and jumping between high-energy formats, whether that’s thrashing on drums in a band or curating vibes behind the decks. Sharing this energy — especially in the emo/pop-punk scene that shaped him — is essential. It keeps things fresh after years of intense touring and recording, letting Frank tap into different sides of music-making and inspire others through workshops, live shows, and just pure fun sets. It’s an extension of his “unbreakable rhythm” philosophy, uncovering new ways to keep the beat going!
A co-founder of the award winning Street Drum Corps, Frank is as passionate about giving back as he is about performing, leading youth workshops that spotlight wellness, mental health and suicide prevention. As a proud New Yorker, devoted husband, and father, Frank Zummo continues to inspire fans across generations with his music, energy, and message of resilience.
